Nel parco nazionale di Kelimutu, nell’isola di Flores, dopo una camminata di circa mezz’ora, si arriva a un punto di osservazione dove è possibile vedere tre laghi. La peculiarità di questi tre laghi sono i colori, che cambiano continuamente, a seconda dell’ora del giorno e del mese dell’anno.
Da bravi turisti per caso abbiamo seguito la massa, svegliandoci alle 4 di mattina (sigh!), per arrivare in tempo per l’alba. Contrariamente alle nostre aspettative, la vera meraviglia si è verificata ben dopo l’ora della colazione, quando ormai tutti gli altri turisti erano già scesi a valle 😉
Prima di ripartire alla volta di Maumere, abbiamo chiacchierato con Lopez, il gestore del Bintang Lodge. Una volta a settimana, Lopez raduna i bambini dei villaggi limitrofi e gli insegna a stare a contatto con la Natura e rispettarla, esortandolo a fare la richiesta per ottenere i libri da green-books.org
The Kelimutu national park is on Flores island. After a short hike, there’s a view point from which you can see three lakes, all with different colors. We followed the rules of mass tourism and woke up at 4am, to be there on time for sunrise. But to our surprise, the great beauty was way after breakfast time, when all the other tourists had left, and we had this scenery almost for ourselves 😉
Before leaving for Maumere we chatted with Lopez, the owner of the Bintang Lodge. Once per week, Lopez spends some time with the children of the nearby villages and teaches them how to respect and preserve the Nature. Of course we sugegsted him to apply for an eco-library from green-books.org 😉
